Personal Statement

As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, I strive to support patients and their families becoming experts in their own care related to Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. My focus centers on optimizing patient safety and education to equip patients and their families with the knowledge to become active participants in the medical decision-making process. In my role, being a dedicated guide, resource, and advocate for patients and their families navigating the cardiac surgery process, is my upmost priority. Together, we as a team, work toward ensuring the best long-term outcomes for your child.

Biographical Info

Rachiel Cabiling is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Â鶹¸ßÇå in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Ms. Cabiling received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hunter College, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing and graduated Cum Laude. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University. Ms. Cabiling is board certified in primary care by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).

After working as a registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at NewYork-Presbyterian Â鶹¸ßÇå for eight years, she found her passion working with patients with heart disease and those undergoing cardiac surgery. Ms. Cabiling committed herself to activities related to cardiac-related education for nursing and medical staff, including being a key member of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) program at NewYork-Presbyterian Â鶹¸ßÇå. She is certified as a Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).

Ms. Cabiling is devoted to providing compassionate, patient and family centered care. Her goal is to assist her patients, and their families in navigating the process of cardiac surgery through open communication, education, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.

Relationships and collaborations with for-profit and not-for profit organizations are of vital importance to our faculty because these exchanges of scientific information foster innovation. As experts in their fields, WCM physicians and scientists are sought after by many organizations to consult and educate. WCM and its faculty make this information available to the public, thus creating a transparent environment.
